Botox FAQ's

Get Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Botox Injections Below.

  • What does it mean to be an Allergan Top Injector?

When you choose Divine Med Spa for your treatments, you are choosing experience, knowledge, and an expert touch. We are grateful to all our patients for their loyalty and referrals, which helped us achieve this honor.

  • How quickly can I get a Botox appointment?

We are typically able to get in Botox patients within two weeks. We try our best to accommodate our patients’ busy schedules!

  • Do you use other neurotoxins?

Divine offers all neuromodulators on the market, including Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin. All are great products, though some work better for certain purposes or areas. We can discuss which treatment is right for you at a consultation.

  • How long does Botox procedure take?

Typically, a Botox treatment requires only 15-20 minutes in a treatment room and ends with absolutely minimal or no discomfort. Usually, you can return to work immediately, while we recommend that you stay away from getting into strenuous activity until the next day.

  • How long does Botox treatment last?

First results usually appear 5 to 7 days after injection, and typically last from 3-4 months. Because these results don’t last forever, repeated injections are needed to preserve the achieved effects.

  • How much does Botox cost?

The cost of Botox varies patient to patient and by the amount of Botox needed to achieve the best results. Although some clinics price Botox by the “area,” we believe in customizing each patient’s treatment, and we price our Botox treatments by the “unit,” based on the amount used: $15/unit.

  • What areas of the face can be treated with Botox?

The most common Botox treatment areas are:

    • Frown “11” lines (glabella)
    • Forehead lines
    • “Crow’s feet” (lines around the eyes)

Divine is also experienced in treating advanced areas such as:

    • Jaw reduction – gives one a softer jawline and slimmer lower face
    • TMJ disorder (or Bruxism) – this aching ailment causes irritation in the jaw area and often lead to teeth grinding and pain in the jaw area. Botox can be used to relax the jaw (masseter) muscles and dramatically reduce the effect of this disorder.
    • Excessive sweating (or hyperhidrosis) - Botox is effectively used for excessive sweating by blocking the release of acetylcholine, thus causing sweat glands to stop producing sweat. Around 20-25 minor injections to the underarm area effectively reduces sweating by up to 90%, lasting up to 10 month, or even longer.
  • How does Botox work?

Botox prevents or softens the movement of certain facial muscles, causing a smoother, renewed and fresh look. Although Botox is a temporary solution to facial wrinkles, consulting with our specialists will ensure that your personal aesthetic goals are met and that you will be able to resume normal life right after the session.

  • Is Botox right for me?
    • The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery(ASAPS) named Botox the most popular medical aesthetic procedure in the USA for the last decade.
    • It is very safe and a highly effective treatment.
    • Botox makes people appear and feel more youthful without the dangers and costs associated with plastic surgery.
    • When done properly, Botox treatments can be so natural they are undetectable! The only thing noticed is a smoother face!

Dermal Filler FAQ's

Get Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Dermal Fillers Below.

  • What are the areas commonly treated with filler?
    • Lips
    • Nasolabial Folds
    • Marionette Lines
    • Deep Wrinkles
    • Fine Lines
    • Jawline Contouring
    • Cheek Contouring
  • What fillers do you use? How do they work?

Divine prefers to use hyaluronic acid based fillers, such as Juvederm, Voluma, and Versa. These are smooth gel fillers that can penetrate cosmetic deeper folds and wrinkles to restore even, silky skin. With a small injection of hyaluronic acid into the desired area, fillers will lift and fill your imperfections instantly.

Different from Botox, which relaxes the muscles creating the pull for wrinkles, filler literally fills in the unwanted crevices with material natural to your body, making it appear as if those crevices were never there.

On average, Juvederm, Restylane, and Versa last for 6 to 12 months, but each patient absorbs and breaks down Hyaluronic Acid differently. Higher crossed-linked products, such as Juvederm Voluma, can last longer. Different areas of the face, depending on the degree of their regular movement, will defuse the effect of filler at different rates. Other factors may also contribute to how long filler lasts, such as intensive or steady sun exposure and a high metabolism.

  • Are filler injections painful?

Our friendly staff strives to provide the most comfortable experience for all patients. Very fine needles are used for filler injections to mitigate any pain. Anesthetic is also mixed into the filler to make the treatment very easy to tolerate. There may be some discomfort present with the first insertion, but this fades quickly as the anesthetic takes effect. In some cases topical anesthetic may be used. We also offer ProNox nitrous oxide to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

  • Am I a good candidate for dermal filler?

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used for almost anyone. However, in order to decide which anti-aging treatment is best for a particular patient, it is best to meet our professional staff and discuss all possible methods of skin rejuvenation.

  • How much does dermal filler cost?

Pricing is $650+ per syringe, depending on the filler formula used. Keep in mind in most cases, patients will need multiple syringes for optimal results. Providing a smooth experience for you (and your skin!) is our priority.

  • Why choose Divine for your filler injections?

We have extensive training and experience in all dermal filler techniques. When you choose Divine, you are choosing experience, knowledge, and an expert touch.

  • When will I see results after my filler treatment?

You will see an immediate cosmetic improvement in the treatment areas following the procedure. Unwanted folds, wrinkles, and lack of volume in the skin will be no longer call attention. Most patients need only one treatment to achieve optimal results which last up to 12 months or more. However, supplemental touch-up injections may be required to achieve and maintain optimal results.

  • What are the pre and post filler treatment instructions?

As with all injectables, we recommend patients avoid taking blood thinners to lessen the risk of bruising. These include aspirin and NSAIDS, such as Motrin, ibuprofen, Advil and Aleve. Alcohol, fish oil and omega, and vitamin E supplements also contain blood thinning properties and should be avoided if possible for one week before your treatment. If you are on blood thinners, we recommend using Arnica cream or pills prior to your visit.

All questions and concerns can be discussed with our professional staff during your consultation. Your medical history, apprehensions, and assurance are vital for our experts to address.

Because dermal filler is not considered a surgery, the simple and safe treatment has minimal recovery or downtime. To minimize the risks of temporary side effects, you should avoid exercise, excessive sun or heat

exposure, and consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours following treatment. Side effects may include bruising, redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites, similar to other facial procedures or injections. These side effects should subside shortly and naturally.

  • Can I combine filler and Botox?

Yes! Dermal Filler treatment goes hand-in-hand with Botox to provide optimal, longer-lasting results. For your best outcomes results, professionals from Divine recommend using these two treatments together strategically. Our experts are ready to help you draft the ideal plan for your needs.

  • Can lip filler look natural?

Absolutely! By filling in the minor crevices time has created, filler will restore the sensuality of your lips or smooth facial curves naturally. Through a simple injection of the smooth gel, minor imperfections and signs of aging are softened very smoothly, thus achieving an aesthetically pleasing cosmetic look. And you will see your results immediately for added peace of mind.

Kybella FAQ's

Get Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about Kybella Injections Below.

  • How does Kybella work?

Fat accumulation beneath the jawline and chin is known as submental fat, or a double chin. Submental Fat is a very common complaint among both men and women. Kybella is made up of a naturally occurring substance within the body, called deoxycholic acid; this is found within the liver and works to dissolve fat cells within the body. When injected into the targeted area, fat cells are broken down and absorbed, which means Kybella is a holistic and safe way to eradicate that problem area under your skin. This procedure is more than a cosmetic fix, it’s permanent.

While deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body, Kybella is a synthetic derived from non-human and non-animal sources. A series of injections will be required, and the exact timing of these is determined at your consultation, because as we know, every person is different. We want to ensure your treatment schedule will provide the best possible results. On the whole, for patients with moderate to severe fat accumulation in this area, Kybella has been shown to be highly effective.

  • How many injections are required for effective treatment?

The number of injections depends on the person as each individual has unique needs and medical history. Generally speaking, around 2-5 sessions are required for optimal results. Each of these sessions needs to be spaced out properly for the body to best respond. The timeline between sessions is about 4-6 weeks apart. During each session, around 15-20 micro-injections are administered through the skin to the selected area.

Over time after the treatment plan is completed, the body works to metabolize the damaged fat cells from the injections undertaken, which leads to a permanent change in appearance, and a slimmer, more youthful look overall.

  • What is the downtime?

Most patients have slight discomfort, similar to other injectables, for a short period of time after the Kybella injection. This resolves relatively quickly. Patients experience different degrees of swelling, but this is a normal part of the healing process and can persist for 2 weeks. Other side effects may include bruising, redness, or numbness. The downtime is on average shorter than other cosmetic surgery options treating the same area. Any questions or concerns can be discussed with our staff during your consultation.

  • How Much Does Kybella Cost?

Similar to fillers, the price depends on how many injections are required for your needs, where you are located, and the experience of the practitioner providing the treatment. It also depends on the size of the area being treated and the volume of deoxycholic acid used. In general, most patients will require multiple treatment sessions to obtain optimum facial results.

Each session is $1200. At times some patients will get best results if coupled with a CoolSculpting treatment, which will alter the cost and plan of care. Our team can provide you with an estimated cost for your personalized treatment during a consultation.

  • How quickly do the results appear?

Typically results after Kybella treatment can appear within weeks or months. Results will continue to show improvement as additional treatments are administered. The best part about Kybella is the permanent nature of the change.

  • What is the evidence if Kybella works?

Kybella’s FDA approval was based on two clinical trials involving more than a thousand patients with moderate to severe submental fat. These patients received injections of either Kybella or a placebo. Patients that received Kybella saw a noticeable and cosmetically significant reduction of submental fat compared to patients that received the placebo.
